Gentleness first
No surprises, no rushing, no "just hold still." Your child can raise a hand and everything pauses.
Our story
Dr. Juliana Fitzgerald is a board-certified pediatric dentist, a collector of terrible knock-knock jokes, and the founder of Bloom — a practice she's been sketching in the margins of her notebooks for years. She's joined chairside by associate dentist Dr. Mysinger.
Most origin stories start with a bad dental visit. Juliana's starts with a great one — a childhood dentist who let her hold the little mirror, named every tool, and made her feel like the bravest kid in East Tennessee. She decided at age nine that this was the job, and unlike most age-nine decisions, it stuck.
Dental school, a pediatric residency, board certification — the framed-paper part of the story. But the real education happened chairside: learning that a four-year-old will do almost anything if you count out loud with them, that "tell-show-do" beats "hold still," and that a parent's calm is contagious. (Dr. Juliana's full credentials will be listed here as the practice opens.)
Because that's what kids do best — with the right care, they open up, grow braver, and shine. Juliana wanted a practice built around small moments handled with patience, warmth, and a little delight, so every child feels looked-after from the very first visit. That's Bloom: a place in Knoxville where growing up gets a little gentler.
And introducing
Joining Dr. Juliana chairside, Dr. Mysinger brings the same gentle-first philosophy to every visit — and a healthy rivalry over who tells the better knock-knock jokes. His full bio, training, and favorite tooth will be posted here as we get closer to opening day.
